Forty five minutes on the phone to make a Nurse appointment. I got to number four by the time I walked into the surgery. The poor receptionist applogisted for this ludicrous phone system, never mind I am sure Rishi can somehow claim how well GPS are performing. What a disgrace. The surgery messaged me clearly stating make a Nurse review by ringing the surgery. Surely your not suggesting I need a E consultation to have a review.

You can't tell a book by its cover...moved to Kirkburton over a year ago from Halifax our GP their was fantastic. We read some reviews about this practice and to be honest put us slightly off. But after travelling over two hours with the traffic to the other side of Halifax we joined this surgery. How wrong we were to not to join sooner. They have been brilliant from the ladies on reception smiling helping us with joining plus helping me with the on-line booking system plus I really was in serious pain with ulcers in my mouth (getting over head and neck cancer) seeing the doctor who reassured me and gave me advice to contact my consultant at St. James. My wife and I was concerned about our medication.....all taken care of again. Blown away the staff are s credit to the NHS and themselves. Thank you Peter and Patricia Bailey.

Appointments easily made. Appointments adhered to. I was seen by Dr Alam who has a wonderful ‘bedside’ manner, listens to her patients needs and explains the whys and wherefores of the problems they are facing. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

STILL waiting for a doctor's letter ! My son needed a doctor's letter for an appeal that was time sensitive (31 days to sort) went to doctors appointment, arranged the letter and now 29 days later xstill waiting. Was told only a couple of days ago that the letter wouldn't even be started til fee was paid. It would have been very helpful if the staff to have informed us of this information on one if the many times my son went into enquire if it was ready.

Avoid !! After moving to the area, I waited nearly an hour to get through to the surgery to see if we came in their catchment area, we did so I downloaded the forms from their website to register as a new patient and filled both in for myself and my partner. I took my filled in forms and ID yesterday, all checked by the lady on reception. My partner went in with his forms today to be told we had completed the wrong forms, when he said they are from your website for new patients, he was told he needed to fill out new forms for us both, when asked why I wasn't told or contacted yesterday the response was "we were waiting for you to come in'!!) The front of house people here are unapologetically inefficient, when my partner was contacted by the surgery this evening and explained the experience we had thus far he was told it was our choice to register where we wanted, when he said after our experience thus far he couldn't see things improving (just incase he hadn't been heard), told the same thing again!! Lucky escape it would seem.

Impossible to get an appointment. Told to ring from 8 am onwards, but you just get disconnected due to high call volumes once you go get through there's no appointments. Telephone appointments but your waiting till later on in the day to be told you need a face to face appointment but cannot offer you one. Reception staff often sat around not answering the phones and quite rude. If your lucky enough to get an appointment you feel as your rushed in and out and not listened to. Used to be a very good doctors practice untill the last 2 years were it has realy gone down hill.

Trying to contact this health centre is beyond a joke. Hold times of 45-60 minutes to be told there are no appointments for several weeks. Ring at 8am and get disconnected due to high call volumes. The staff are clearly trying their best however the management and running of the health centre is well below par. People are trying to contact you with general health concerns and they are not able to do so, you are frankly failing. I have raised this via a complaint to be told there is an increase in demand. Its fairly simple get additional staffing resources to answer the phones and service your patients that doesn't take such a significant length of time. There is an automated message advising that reception staff have faced an increased amount of verbal abuse. A lot of this is to do with people having to ring numerous times to simply get in the cue and then when they finally manage to do so the face frankly ridiculous hold times.

Phoned for an appointment at 11am and got a phone call from a doctor at 2pm who assessed me and sorted treatment for me virtually without having to see anyone. Excellent service. Did have to wait a while to get through on the phones but the situation we are in at the moment explains that. Thanks for the good service.
